Book Fair News
The Waynflete Library Book Fair will take place Wednesday, October 29 through Friday, October 31 from 8:30 to 4:00 in the library. Stop by before or after your child’s parent-teacher conference to shop for wonderful new books for children and adults. We’ll also have plenty of copies of this year’s Monday Books selections for sale. All proceeds benefit the library.
We’re very excited to announce that Frederick Lipp, author of The Caged Birds of Phnom Penh , a Notable Books for a Global Society (IRA), and Running Shoes, will be visiting Waynflete on Wednesday, October 29. Fred is also the founder and president of the Cambodian Arts and Scholarship Foundations. Both books are set in Cambodia, this year’s Lower School Global Focus country. Fred will be visiting Lower School classes in the morning and will be signing copies of his books at the Book Fair from 12:30-3:00.
As previously announced, we’re also excited to host local cartoonist Lincoln Peirce. Lincoln is the creator of the comic strip “Big Nate.” He’ll be visiting Middle School classes on Wednesday morning, then signing copies of his new Big Nate book, I Smell a Pop Quiz!, from 12:30 to 3:00.
Please come in on Wednesday afternoon to meet Lincoln and Fred.
